Robo Alive FAQ

What is Robo Alive?

Robo Alive is a line of battery-powered interactive toys made by ZURU. The line covers dinosaurs, dragons, sharks, axolotls, fish, turtles, spiders and snakes, all built around the same realistic-motion engine. Robo Alive sells primarily on Amazon, Walmart and Target.

What age is Robo Alive for?

Most Robo Alive toys are rated 3+. The larger and scarier ones (Giant Tarantula, Crawling Spider) work best for 5+. Water toys (Robo Fish, Robo Turtle, Axolotl) suit toddlers in supervised bath play. Dinosaurs and dragons fit the 3-8 sweet spot.

Do Robo Alive toys come with batteries?

Yes for most kits. ZURU ships demo-grade AAs in the box so the toy works out of the package. Replace with fresh alkaline AAs for full-strength motion. Lithium AAs last longer but are not required.

How long do Robo Alive batteries last?

Roughly 4-6 hours of continuous play on a fresh set of alkaline AAs. Kids rarely run them continuously, so most users get 2-3 weeks of regular play per battery set. Always remove batteries during long storage to prevent leaks.

Are Robo Alive water toys safe for the pool?

Yes for the water-rated SKUs (Great White Shark, Water Activated Sharks 2-pack, Robo Fish, Robo Turtle, Pets Alive Axolotl). They auto-power-on when submerged and auto-off when removed. They are not intended for chlorinated saltwater pools long term, and you should rinse with fresh water after each use.

What is the difference between Robo Alive Series 1, 2 and 3?

Series numbers signal generation. Series 1 was the original chassis. Series 2 and 3 added sound, refined the motion engine and introduced new species (axolotl, turtle). The motion quality improves with each series but the core toy concept is the same.

Where is Robo Alive made?

Designed by ZURU (New Zealand-headquartered, with offices in Hong Kong) and manufactured in China. ZURU also makes Bunch O Balloons, X-Shot foam blasters and Mini Brands.
